The Antics Of Team Anna Hazare

The antics of "Team Anna": erstwhile and now!

The antics of "Team Anna": erstwhile and now!
Anna Hazare had risen to the position of being the father of anti-corruption in India with his extremely followed protests last year. It would not be an exaggeration to state that the whole nation had moved in his foot steps after he launched his campaign demanding a Strong Lok Pal bill and crusading against corruption. Recently the support levels had plummeted to a never expected low of just a few thousand, quite hesitantly with extra support garnered by the Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba. What has their agenda been earlier that could draw the crowds and how different is the scenario today that caused the dwindling in the numbers?

In the recent protests staged at Jantar Mantar, Anna Hazare and his then Team Anna, who had not yet disbanded, were not appreciated by the crowd who could not have been more than a thousand. After the indefinite fasts they had been trying to contemplate a politcal alternative to the people. How is another political party a political alternative? To say the least it only adds up to the confusion among the parties that are already present. This statement had drawn criticism from all his supporters from the nation who previously supported him. But is Anna to be blamed? He had announced that he would not be involved politically and his mission was to achieve the Jan Lokpal Bill for the better functioning of the nation. It was his Team members who had embraced and announced the idea of a political party as a political alternative to the crowd. Arvind Kejriwal, and Kiran Bedi among others had been pro-party as a solution to the problem.

To side track a little from the issue of the political party, Ramdev had supported the movement of Anna Hazare at the Jantar Manta protests but why could not Anna Hazare helped him with the same at Ambedkar Stadium. It is true that Arvind Kejriwal had made a surprise presence at the protests but it was on the last day and only after the Team Anna disbanded.

Could this suggest the Anna Hazare have eased on pursuing the cause a little?

There were discrepancies between Ramdev and Team Anna in the issue of support to BJP after Ramdev shook hands with Narendra Modi and gave him a clean chit. Kiran Bedi, another key member of the team had also followed the same lines by refusing to join the protest against BJP claiming that they need the support of BJP. She had distanced herself from Arvind Kejriwal who had agitated in front of the residences of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the BJP President. Kiran Bedi has also asked Anna to step in and give a direction to the movement as "they were losing focus".

A team that originally had begun peacefully has drooped to a new low with street agitations. They have discrepancies among themselves. The party agenda is not very clear to the people. Transparency is out of the question. What is the erstwhile Team Anna thinking? At a time when India needs hope why is Team Anna crumbling? (AW- Anil)

King Nagarjuna Happy Birthday

Nag turns 53 today

Versatile actor and southern king of romance, Nagarjuna (commonly called as Nag by his fans and admirers) has turned 53 today. Andhra Wishesh takes an opportunity to wish Manmadhudu a happy birthday. To all those who knew about Nag, there's nothing that we have say about this legendary actor. And to all those new to Telugu or India, here we present some exclusive information about Nagarjuna....Take a look!

Nagarjuna -this name has a special significance in Telugu Cinema.  Entered the reel world as the son of versatile Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Nagarjuna has created his own charisma and style in no time. His debut film Vikram in 1986 literally drew people of all ages to theatres. Since then Nagarjuna never looked back. Even though there were some flops in his career, Nag (as he's popularly known as) never got depressed. He appeared in more than 80 films and won two National Awards and six Nandi Awards (state awards) besides three Filmfare Awards (south).

Early life:
nagarjuna1Born on August 29, 1959 in Chennai to the then top film actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao in Chennai, Nagarjuna was perhaps born with a silver spoon. And despite taking birth in an affluent family, Nageshwara Rao had apparently never let Nagarjuna become an addict to luxuries. He reportedly went to college in city buses and lead a normal life. Thanks to his father ANR for the discipline he instilled in Nag. That could be the reason why today Nagarjuna is one of the most down to earth personalities in Tollywood.  After his family moved to Hyderabad from Chennai, Nagarjuna was admitted to Hyderabad Public School where he completed his tenth standard and later pursued his intermediate education at the esteemed Little Flower Junior College after which he completed his engineering education at College of Engineering, Guindy in Chennai. Later, Nagarjuna moved to Eastern Michigan University where he completed his management studies.

Entry into films:
nagarjuna2Nagarjuna nor his father Nageshwara Rao apparently never thought Nag would enter films and in the long round would tag himself as southern king of romance. The story all started when he showed interest in films and wanted to done the role of a protagonist. And he got an offer for Vikram movie, which was directed by V Madhusudhana Rao. Vikram was released in 1986 and became a box office hit stunning many top heroes then.

A journey into the film world:
nagarjuna3Nagarjuna and romance perhaps cannot be undivided on Telugu silver screen. Right from Maniratnam's Geethanjali to Manmadudu, Nagarjuna made young women go crazy. And for college goers, Nagarjuna as Shiva in Ram Gopal Varma's debut movie is till date a role model character. This film shot him into limelight across India as this movie was even dubbed into Hindi. This movie, which was screened, at International Film Festival in Kolkata, supposedly made audience awestruck. Today meet anyone in Kolkata and the moment Telugu cinema discussion pops up, the first name they would take is Nagarjuna. 'Kya actor hai yaar!' this was the common word Cine Sprint team heard when the team enquired as to what people in Mumbai and Kolkata think of Nagarjuna.

Another film, which had an ever lasting impression on Bollywood movie buffs was, Criminal (which was also made in Hindi). Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Criminal was one movie, which cannot be erased off the minds of  romantic flick lovers. Thanks to MM Keeravani who scored brilliant music to the film, which played an important role in movie's success. Before Criminal, Nag appeared in Tollywood films such as Nirnayam, Killer and Chaitanya. All these movies brought critical acclaim to the legendary actor.

At a point of time when everyone in the state came to a conclusion that Nagarjuna would only suit for romantic and action roles, he astonished scores of people with a full length comedy entertainer—Hello Brother. The movie, which was directed by late EVV Satyanarayana, tickled the ribs of audiences to the core. This movie still remains in the hearts of the fans of Nagarjuna. Once Nagarjuna told in an interview that his youngest son Akhil's favourite movie was Hello Brother.

Two years after Hello Brother, Nagarjuna came in front of the public yet another time as a powerful lover boy in the film—Ninne Pelladatha, which was directed by Krishna Vamsi. The movie had a song 'Greeku Veerudu' and after release of this movie, for years together, Nagarjuna was referred to as Greeku Veerudu (meaning Greek Hero). Nagarjuna played a character of a youngster, who had to strike a perfect balance between love life and family values. And Nagarjuna had perfectly handled the role and supposedly gave his best.

While everyone was still enjoying and discussing Ninne Pelladatha, Nagarjuna had strike the silver screen as Annamayya (a Telugu saint and poet who hymns are till date part and parcel of prayers at Tirumala). Nagarjuna as Annamayya touched the hearts of aged women for the first time.Nag has got critical acclaim for this movie. Later, Nag appeared in romantic flicks such as Santhosham and Manmadhudu. In fact, after release of Manmadhudu movie (an out and out romantic film), Nag had been referred to as Manmadhudu. After, that a couple of movies such as Shivamani, Nenunanu and Mass received average response at the box office.

Bollywood:
nagarjuna4After the success of Criminal movie, offers poured in from Bollywood for Nagarjuna. Right from Shiva, Criminal to Khuda Gawah and Zakhm—all of them were block busters at Bollywood. And Nag chose Tollywood over Bollywood. When asked why, Nag told in an earlier interview that he chose life over career. He was he was already a superstar here (Tollywood), he might have become a superstar there (Bollywood) and what next questioned Nag stating that there was no end to ambition and he was contended in Hyderabad. Therefore, he said no regrets over his decision.

Nagarjuna has even produced a few films earlier. He's a person, who has been striving for uplifting Telugu Cinema and that's the reason why he came up with an acting school at his Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. On a personal front, Nagarjuna is a jovial and down-to-earth guy. All in all, Nagarjuna is one of the big assets of Telugu Cinema.  We once again wish Nagarjuna a superb birthday.

Countries with cheapest petrol

Countries with cheapest petrol

  • Iran

    Iran

India has been witnessing extremely high petrol and diesel prices. Most of the price reforms are hikes in prices and the remaining few reductions in the price come just before elections temporarily. It would also be very generous of me to say that the lowering in the prices is modest; in fact they are miserly. So, just as a treat to your eyes, or even the opposite as it can elicit a strong hatred towards the government, we bring to you the cities with the lowest prices of Petrol in the world. No wonder most of them are from the Middle East, but you would be shocked to learn that they are not the lowest. Venezuela sells petrol at a tenth of the price in India. Read further to see how low the prices are..
    Iran
At a price of just Rs 18.41 for a liter, on average every Iranian spends just Rs 2223.40 per month.
  • Algeria

    Algeria

In Algeria the price per litre is Rs 14.90 which is almost a fifth of our current price for petrol. The petrol budged per month on average is Rs 1799.94.

  • Kuwait

    Kuwait

Kuwait, another country from the Middle East, sells petrol at Rs 14.90 per liter.
Expenditure towards petrol every month = Rs 1799.94

  • Turkmenistan

    Turkmenistan

    Cost per litre: Rs 14.90
    Spendings per month: Rs 1799.94

  • Libya

    Libya

A cheaper competitor from the African continent is Libya with a price of just Rs 13.15
    Monthly Expenditure: Rs 1586.89

  • Bahrain

    Bahrain

Back to the UAE, Bahrain is level with Libya at the price of Rs 13.15 for every liter.

  • Qatar

    Qatar

Did you believe you could travel in the beautiful city of Doha, around The Pearl and everywhere else in Qatar with petrol at a super-low price of Rs.10.52 per liter. Expenditure per month: Rs 1270.39

  • Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Arabia

Probably as a form of alms form the mighty Allah, petrol here in Saudi Arabia is just Rs 8.76, cheaper than a 200ml coke bottle. Cost per month: Rs 1058.87

  • Egypt

    Egypt

Probably the pictures of the Giza and Sphinx seemed more photogenic with the camels, and it could have lowered the demand for petrol maintaining it at Rs 7.89 per liter. Imagine pending less than Rs. 1000 on petrol (Rs 953.44 on average) when you live in Egypt.

  • Venezuela

    Venezuela

This makes me wonder if it is not just water that plunges from a whopping 979m of the Angel Falls (Salto Angel) in Venezuela. My speculation of the flow being a mixture of petrol and water (though I know fully well that it’s not true at all) can explain two things: the golden color of the river, which the highest waterfall on Earth feeds and the lowest prices for petrol in the World.
    Price per litre: Rs 7.01
    Monthly cost: Rs 846.93

Getting back to our concrete jungles for our regular news round up:

Megastar to political Chanukya...saga continues

From Megastar to political Chanukya...saga continues
Megastar01'Star....Star....Mega...star..Star....'
This is the famous starting lyric of an old Megastar film. If it is rewritten today then it will be, 'Star....Star....Mega...star..Star.... Political.. Star.. Star...' True after a considerable debacle in the 2009 general elections many thought that it was the end of the political roads to the actor turned politician Chiranjeevi. Inspite of huge fan base he failed to garner Assembly strengths to crown self as the Chief Minister. This was considered as a major setback for his political aspirations and then rose the mature politician in Chiru (as he is fondly recalled by fans). Yes if you remember the media interview he gave to a prominent channel after merging his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) with the Congress.
Megastar02The senior journalist questioned his motive behind the merger. And pop, came the reply, 'to work better,' by the star. Then he added, 'if I could fight for many causes for the betterment of my people, while staying out of the ruling party' he pause and continued, 'my chances are better when I stay with the ruling party.' Initially, people thought he was an opportunist while merging the party. They went on to say that Chiru was benefited in the merger with power. But the political Chanukya proved his critics wrong and stated that not only he, but even Congress was benefited in the deal.
Megastar03How do you think Congress was benefited: The Byelections for the 13 constituencies in the recent past, saw the results, inspite of a sympathy wave sweeping the Congress contestants off their seats. The sole two seats that the Congress garnered where those of Chiru's trusted lieutenants in Narsapur and Ramachandrapuram. Despite the sympathy wave, Chiru's wave was riding higher. Critics restricted their comments and some even went to say that in 2014 general elections, Congress might have a grand say if Chiru's role is well defined. Well this is not a political column and we shall not speculate much on these lines.
Megastar04On the contrary what makes Chiru what he is today. From Siva Sankara Vara Prasad the journey to Rajya Sabha was surely not just a bed of roses, they had their thorns too. Out from the Madras Film Institute in the late 70's, his first film 'Punadhirallu' did not give him the necessary impetus for a robust career, as it took to screen after a long hiatus. But later started, 'Pranam Kareedhu' was the first released film and his role in the next film 'Manavuri Pandavulu,' directed by Bapu gave him a launch pad for a bright career. However the commercial hero status to the star was given by A Kodandarami Reddy's 'Khaidhi' in 1983. from then on wards there was no looking back for the star.
Megastar05And the success journey continued for almost two decades and more. Chiru was moved by the flood victims plight in the late nineties. Though he donated for the cause liberally, his outreach attitude was never quenched and he formed the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT) in 1998, to reach out the needy. As he realized that if one man contributes it is limited but creating an awakening amidst a larger base, the contributions are abundant. With this in minds he felt CCT would create the awareness. And for the larger base, he had the easy access to millions through his versatile acting skills. To maximize his service reach, CCT listed  Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks. As per stats CCT is the  largest recipient of blood and eye donations, in the state. Infact CCT has reached out to numerous people in need, over 68,000 blood donations through and 1,414 eye donations, lists Wiki.
Megastar06The reach out was so phenomenal that each of his audio cassette had a self declaration form for his fans to donate their eyes to the needy, as per norms. On most of his birthdays there were large blood camps organized by his fans and the donations reached the bank to help the needy too. All this needed meticulous planning and profound patronage, who else than Chiru, could accomplish this mammoth task. Yet the reaching out instincts to the needy, in him, were still not quenched, the thirst continued. In 2009 he started his political party PRP, with a slogan for social empowerment through social justice. However he was able to erode the base of Telugu Desam Party and Congress alike, he lost many seats in low majorities. Finally PRP could just win 18 MLA seats with 18% vote share.
Megastar07With this point many thought that the political novice (as claimed by his critics) would turn his back to his aspirations. But Chiru was in no mood for bowing out, to the defeats, but was in hibernation for sometime. Later after the death of the former Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy in 2009 in a fatal air accident, Congress had a leadership crisis. And in 2011 Congress was pinned down by the  YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the form of a non-confidence motion, in the assembly. And Congress had to call on Chiru for a support in the form of a merger. PRP was formally merged with the Congress on 6 February 2011 (after thirty months of existence). This was also blamed by the critics as a suicidal step by the PRP. But Chiru who had now become the 'Political Chanukya' knew that his move would give him the 'king pin's' status. And the byelections consolidated his prowess and powers.
Megastar08Sitting in the Rajya Sabha as a Congress Leader, Chiru has never involved himself in mudslinging or taking shots of the ruling leaders. He was concentrating in making a path for getting his objectives of 'serving the people' fulfilled. Chiru is a well-balanced politician, this was visible when most politicians were pondering over the (by)-electoral gains, he carried on with his son's wedding, confident about his stakes. Such was the vision of the leader who delivered what promised and maintained all his duties as a human, actor and a politician. Wishesh wishes the Megastar of Politics a Happy Birthday and also wishes him success in his mission. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)

Congress Limps Dharmanna Abuses Power!

Congress limps, Dharmanna abuses power!

Congress limps, Dharmanna abuses power!
Smitten by corrupted leaders, erring to save for generations to come has become a day-to-day affair in the state. With same stories repeating in daily media. Day before it was late Y S Rajashekar Reddy who had gone out of the way in abusing his power as the Chief Minister, while rendering favors to his son Jagan Mohan Reddy. Yesterday it was Mopidevi who was exposed in the liquor scam and today it is the minister for roads and buildings, Dharmana Prasad. But the thought, 'tomorrow', for the Congress leaders must be dreadful, as the CBI puts its scanner on many ministers in the Jagan's disproportionate assets case. Who will be the next, feel the observers and where is the limit.

At this rate we would be having almost have most bigwigs involved in slew of alleged abuse of power issues. However concentrating on the latest victim to the CBI axes, rewrites the YSR-Jagan story with Dharmana and his son Dharmana Ram Manohar Naidu, of course with names changed, instead of the formers. As the modus-operandi for favoring his son in gaining major shares in the valuable beach sands projects, looked similar. The way the funds were diverted and power abused were on similar lines to the former duo, says a leading media daily. Right now Dharmana has been listed as the fifth accused by the CBI in the Jagan DA case. The CBI listed the alleged role of the former Minister in their fourth chargesheet submitted late last week. This was done after questioning the minister twice earlier.

Dharmana, a senior leader of the Congress, was a four time MLA of the Srikakulam Constituency and a trusted lieutenant of the late YSR. Hailing from the BC Velama community in the north coastal districts, he was instrumental in the Congress winning a majority of the seats in his native district of Srikakulam, in the 2009 elections.  As per the CBI the erstwhile Vanpic deal garnered liberal sanctions from the revenue department when the leader was at the helm of affairs. Infact sources claim that the minister felicitated to illegally acquire lands for Vanpic,  under the guise of development of the backward region.

Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad who heads the Vanpic Projects Private Limited was alleged to have invested in Jagan's company on quid pro quo arrangement for land allotted to the port project by the then YSR government. And Dharmana was alleged to be instrumental in overseeing the project took off well as helmed the revenue department, around that time. In principle Vanpic Infrastructure project in 2008 was to construct ports and an industrial corridor in the Prakasam and Guntur districts, intended to industrialize this largely-agricultural area.

Though this is the original issue that lead to the CBI cornering Dharmana, a recent media report enlightens how the trusted lieutenant turns a kingpin in the beach sands project in Srikakulam district which has his own family as the epicentre of beneficiaries. This is worth a noting that needs to briefed on the media report that has appeared in a leading daily this morning. The project which had an estimate of Rs 1875 Cr had an initial announcement of 768 hectares, which was briskly followed by another allotment of  709 hectares. Infact the project would have got in to the book of records for the brisk nature of government sanctions that it had in its kitty.

Under normal circumstances a project take off in the country takes..........................., I know the sufferers will fill the columns about the process. But with the Minister behind there was effervescent movement was visible in the mammoth proposal, every thing was in place in no time. For another issue the project will go in records is, inspite of the rapid movement the original company went into oblivion and a new company was in place for the development. Mind boggling is the report that turned eyeballs in today's print edition.

One point that needs to be noted out here is that the heavy mineral beach sands are used along with with Titanium and other rarely available minerals to make various high cost alloys, which are more valued than the costliest metals. This belt on which the project was proposed was rich with ilmenite mixed with  heavy mineral beach sands, with natural abundance. So an ideal cash rich resource which would have made the promoters listed in the Forbes too, say critics. What a master plan, sir, you excelled your mentor, add observers.

Chronicle of events as they unfolded:

1.    2005 June 23: Dharmana along with his kin forms a company 'Bay Minerals Pvt Ltd' with a mere capital of Rs 1.35 lakhs.

2.    2005 August 03: APMDC issues a notification for starting a joint venture to explore the  768 hectares of heavy mineral beach sands, with private participation.

3.    2005 August 11: VV Minerals from Tamil Nadu solicits interest in exploring as per the notification.

4.    2006 July 25: After going the credentials APMDC sanctions the JV project to VV Minerals.

5.    2006 July 27: Dharmana's 'Bay Minerals Pvt Ltd', signs an share holding agreement with VV Minerals Pvt Ltd. And as per the agreement  VV Minerals Pvt Ltd would get 63 percent and  Bay Minerals will get 26 percent share in the JV with APMDC. The government agency to get the remaining 11 percent. However the irony is that  VV Minerals Pvt Ltd was never allotted the project and it was  VV Minerals that was sanctioned by APMDC, as of date.

6.    2006 September 29: APMDC recommendations to the joint venture with VV Minerals had been approved by the government in GO no: 273.

7.    2006 October 12:  VV Minerals urges the  APMDC to amend the agreement in favour of VV Minerals Pvt Ltd. This clearly shows the intentions of the later company.

8.    2006 October 13: APMDC obliges the request of VV Minerals and the fresh amendment in favor of VV Minerals Pvt Ltd. Just imagine under what pressures the act would have been in just a day?

9.    2006 December 14:  VV Minerals Pvt Ltd urges APMDC for more land. And also specifies where and how much land was required for the joint venture to provide employment to many youth.

10.    2006 December 27: the government instantly responded to the urge and processed GO no: 374, and all other formalities were in place at a rapid pace.

11.    2006 December 30:  APMDC and VV Minerals Pvt Ltd, ink the agreement as bureaucrat V D Rajagopal takes over the consortium as Managing Director. And the most astonishing fact is that the APMDC agrees on a 11 percent share, with the rest in the hands of  VV Minerals Pvt Ltd. Does it sound similar to the private agreement made by Dharmana & Co on 2006 July 27!

12.    2008 December 05: Dharmana Ram Manohar Naidu and Dharmana's man-Friday, Allu Kesav Jogi Nayudu take over as the additional directors in VV Minerals Pvt Ltd. Another close relative of Dharmana, Rahul Muddada takes over as the Joint Managing Director of the company. As per the agreement VV Minerals Pvt Ltd had to shell out Rs 1875 Cr, for the development of the project. And do you know
Rahul Muddada's acre off address is similar to the house number of the former minister's bungalow allotted by the government. Infact he loans the investment of Rs 2.6 Lakhs on behalf of  Bay Minerals Pvt Ltd, as its share.

13.    Final Word: As per the agreement APMDC never got its rightful share of 11 percent, till date. This was visible in the company's statement released on 31-03-2011.

After this things slowed down:

1.    2010 November 11:  APMDC recommends for suspending the agreement with VV Minerals pvt Ltd as the later had violated the conditions...this is pending.

2.    2011 July 11: Jagan DA case, CBI investigations begin.

3.    2011 July 13: Flutter in Dharmana camp, nearly six directors resign from VV Minerals pvt Ltd.

4.    2011 July 18: Even  Dharmana Ram Manohar Naidu resigns from VV Minerals pvt Ltd. Now the sole person from the Dharamana & Co in the erstwhile VV Minerals pvt Ltd, is  Rahul Muddada.

The whole melodrama unfolds as a setback to the ruling party, which is already bogged down by various crisis. And the resignation of the minister is sure to set the precedent for others implicated in the case. But what will happen to the ruling party that is severely haunted by its arch rivals, miserably. Only a messiah could save the honors of the old horse and bring it back to power cleansing the sins of the few. And if so who could it be...a million dollar question, leaving it to your guesses.

S11 Syndrome For Train Passengers

After last Monday, any train passenger in India traveling by S 11 coach is sure to feel a pinch of pessimism, before boarding the train. Well the main reason is the ghastly accident that occurred on Monday Morning in the Tamil Nadu Express bound to Chennai, in the sleeper coach with the same number. Taking a leaf of my own experience shows the real feelings in a personal event. Actually my Mother and family were planning to Shirdi since some time and we planned it for Tuesday (31 July 2012).

We were a group of twenty members family traveling. A few of us were allotted in S 13 while a few got it in S 11 coach. The dreaded coach figured in our tickets. Unfortunately I could not make it as my boss did not grant me permission. And my tension started mounting as some of my family members had boarded the S 11 coach. Another point was that I was not traveling with them either. Inspite of giving them adequate and repeated instructions, I was restless the whole night. I regained my lost control only after receiving a wake-up call from my mother that they alighted at Nagarsol Station by 6 am on time and by God's grace, intact.

Well many may be wondering why I was tensed to that extent about the S 11 coach syndrome! To get a clearer view on that one should get to know the details of the ill fated train at Nellore station in Andhra Pradesh. Tamil Nadu express was traveling from New Delhi to Chennai, on Monday, as usual cruising at a speed of 110 kmph while passing through the Nellore station. As the train did not have a scheduled halt at the station, it was moving along in top speeds. Just then an alert Deputy Station Master noticed fire in the train. Immediately he informed the authorities and rescue operations were in place, on a war-footing.

However the fire in the coach had razed the compartment to ashes with in fifteen minutes. The accident had claimed thirty or more lives and left several injured. In total the coach had 72 reserved passengers and some more unreserved occupants at the time of the accident. As per sources the accident occurred due to a short circuit near one of its toilets, at around 4.30 am in the morning. Practically in the next two hours the train was to reach its destination, Chennai, but fate had decided otherwise for the ill-fated passengers.

Due to the monsoon low temperatures most of the windows in the coach were shut and this aggravated the death toll. Most passengers were in deep sleep, due in the odd hours of dawn. As the fumes started engulfing most of them became unconscious and died in an intoxicated state. The rest made a mad rush to get out of the coach, but the stampede had resulted in several getting injured. The main reasons for the mad rush was the whole train was dark with fumes and three of the four doors were jammed.

Rescue teams rushed on-time and cut open the coach from the front vestibule connection to rescue the survivors. It was a sad end to many passengers who died in the train. Most of the charred bodies were beyond recognition. Pathetic situation that prevailed in the chaos, inside the S 11 coach, as one survivor recalled, 'everything happened with in few minutes'. AarKay.
