Happy Birthday 'Lata Mangeshkar' Didi: Morning Wishesh
Hi
again back in action. The whole city is turning more glamorous with
ornamental work being taken up by the GHMC. Thanks to them, for making
us realize that Hyderabad is also the cultural capital and not just
capital for pollution and traffic jams. All this hungama is for the
International Biodiversity Summit scheduled from Monday, in the city.
The morning
began with a controversy for me and I will not rest till I transfer the
same to you. Because while in confusion, you only need friends. Is it
not!
Well
the confusion is as I looked towards the wiki to give you various
titbits of the day, I noticed that under the birth's sub division, the
Birthday of Shirdi Sai Baba was listed in 1835. This is one thing that
did not go down well with me. As Baba's birth has never been quoted
anywhere and this was little confusing. In case you have any details
regarding this please comment below and we shall hold a consensus over
the issue. Anyways let's start the Morning Wishesh.
Thought for the day:
A verse from the Holy Quran: if we could realize the essence of this
verse then there would be no differences between us, brethren.
"He is
the One GOD; the Creator, the Initiator, the Designer. To Him belong the
most beautiful names. Glorifying Him is everything in the heavens and
the earth. He is the Almighty, Most Wise." (Quran, 59:24 )
Celebrity news:
Today the nation witnessed the birth of the national Cuckoo, Lata
Mangeshkar. The renowned singer from Maharashtra is a national prestige.
On this day in 1929 the Indian Playback singer was born in Madhya
Pradesh. Since 1942 till date, touch wood, she had been the voice of
India. Her career spanning nearly 65 years is still in its peak and she
is the most respected singer of the century. Lata Didi was featured in
the Guinness Book of World Records from 1974 to 1991 for having made the
most recordings in the world. It is also believed that during the peaks
of her career between 1948 to 1974, she had recorded approximately
25,000 solo, duet, and chorus-backed songs in 20 Indian languages. Well
imagine what would be the total as of today. And do you remember the
original radio channel in India, Vividh bharathi! There was a point that
on this radio frequency at any point of time, turning to any sub
channel, one could hear her songs being played. The endless chain of
songs were continuous and that is big credit to this doyen. Wishesh
extends warm wishes for a Happy and healthy birthday to Lata Mangeshkar
didi.
History Speaks:
Way back in 551 BC Chinese Philosopher Confucius was born in Zou in Lu
State. He was a teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the
Spring and Autumn Period of Chinese history. His teachings cast a
mystique spell on global political arena, but though many adore them,
few followed as time passed by. Confucius advocated for personal and
governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice and
sincerity.
Days Specialty: Today is the World Rabies Day
(International), the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur who,
with the collaboration of his colleagues, developed the first
efficacious rabies vaccine. It is estimated over 99% of all human deaths
that are caused by infected dogs usually occur in Africa and Asia,
especially in regions with large numbers of un-vaccinated community and
domestic dogs. Pasteur's contributions in this arena is incomparable
and a blessing in disguise for us where stray dogs is a common problem.
In fact he is considered as the founder of modern medicine.
Tirupati:
Devotees surge rises after the festive Brahmotsavams that concluded on
Wednesday. Today as per morning reports nearly 31 compartments are
filled and the minimum time to have a happy darshan would be 15 hours.
Looks like fearing heavy crowds the rush was comparatively low during
the ten day ordeal and now pilgrims are thronging. Ofcourse it is bad
planning, because a visit during the festive time would have given them a
glimpse of the celebrations which filled with pomp and grandeur. The
low rush also attributed to the Ganapati utsavs celebrated across the
nation around the same time.
Nepal Plane Crash:
19 feared killed in a domestic flight that was flying in the shadows of
the Mount Everest near Kathmandu in the early hours of the day. The
double engine Sita airways aircraft crashed and everyone on board were

off from the Kathmandu airport with tourists and was flying to Lukla
town which was the gateway to Everest. And immediately developed and

majority of the dead are foreigners from Western countries,' says Nepal
Police spokesman Binod Singh.
T20 World Cup 2012:

Lanka has entered the Super Eight stage. And today's match is one of the
best encounters in the tournament India vs Australia. Advantage India

those jobs. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)

Her
entry into south was in a film called Ishtam in 2001, which took her no
where. But her role with King Nagarjuna in her second film, Santhosham
took her to places and she embarked on a surging career. She became the
most sought after star and has acted with almost all the top brand in
the last twelve years. As a part of her second innings she is donning
role in the Telugu film
titled as 'Life is Beautiful' directed by Shekar Kammula. Another lead
lady on the show is Amala, who also makes a comeback in this film.
As far as Tamil is concerned Shriya had edged over her contemporaries by bagging
the role in Superstar Rajnikanth's Sivaji: The Boss. Infact more
recently the film is in news for being remade in 3 D. For that matter
Shriya is the first star to be in a full length
3D in the recent times. And her remarkable achievement was in 2011 when
she grabbed the best actor's award for her character in Rowthram. Most
of her films are commercial success because of the stars she chose to
act with. Few such endeavors were Vikram-starrer Kandasamy and Pokkiri
Raja in Malayalam.
The
actor has her own list of English films too in which she had donned a
decent portrayal too. Cooking with Stella and The Other End of the Line
both earned her critical acclaim. The latest that are right now baking
in the oven are Tamil-Kannada bilingual, Chandra, directed by Roopa
Iyer and an untitled project with Jimmy Shergill in Hindi. The star is
right now basking in Toronto for the ongoing film festival where her
film based on Salman Rushdie’s book Midnight’s Children is being
screened. From here she flies off to Japan for the premiere of her Tamil film
Sivaji with Rajnikant which is being showcased in the 3D format on
September 15. Lucky

Teacher’s
Day 2012 is celebrating as usual on the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli
Radhakhrishnan. A honour to the visionary who made significant
contribution in shaping Indian Education system. Dr Radhakhrishnan was
the first Vice President for the Republic of India and was the second
President. He was a teacher and is remembered as pride of the
profession. And this day is in honour of Dr Radhakhrishnan who excelled
as a teacher.
However as per the Hindu Myth 'Guru
Pournima' is considered as the day to pay reverence to the 'Guru' or
'Teacher' The full moon day in the month of Ashadha (July-August) is
known as Guru Pournami. This is traditionally the time when seekers
offer the Guru their gratitude and receive his blessings. This is the
concept oriented approach imbibed in the rich legacy of Hindu culture.
Well
the importance of this day is endless and might as well be celebrated
on both the days. As it means remembering our Gurus, but for whom, we
would not have scaled these peaks. Yes parents gave us 'jeevan' (life)
and Guru gave us gyan (knowledge). I remember an old saying about the
teacher who in modern days is called as a mentor. The parent is the
first teacher to the child while the teacher is the second parent to the
child. True in its larger meaning, the statement is worth its salt,
every word written.
Flash Back: Remember those nimble fingers
of yours that were held to write letters on the slate under the first
teacher's guidance. Then later the Maths sir in your fifth class, who
bribes you with chocolates and makes you learn the addition and
subtraction. When ever the addition was made, you got more chocolates
and you smiled. But when subtracting, chocolates were lesser on hand
and you frowned. Then the tenth class Biology teacher who gave undue
importance to you and spoke in lengths on an embarrassing session of
human anatomy and at the end you felt it as an adult class. Then in
Eleventh (+1), the physics sir who was puny and always used to run to
the washroom. Next was your thermodynamics lecturer in graduation and
last not the least your professor who taught you management principles.
Well the list is endless.
And now let's leave it at that and come down to the present context. Recently I went to my home
town with my sixteen-year-old daughter and on her insistence we
visited my school, a small place. There we met my old teacher, with
shivering-bent body he looked up to recognizes me. When I recalled him
my name and about my parents, slowly he realized and smiled in
approval. I hope this is a regular experience to one and all. But the
fact out here is the teacher remained at the same place but after
learning from them We have scaled unknown peaks in profession.
That
very moment I realized that this was circle of life. But do we have
such dedicated
