Sri Rama Navami At Badhrachalam

Sri Rama Navami at Badhrachalam-A special report

Sri Rama Navami at Badhrachalam-A special report

Sri Rama Navami-the birthday and also the wedding anniversary-of legendary ancient personality and Lord Sri Ram falls on Navami after Ugadi. Today being that auspicious day, celebrations have touched peak across the country. At many famous temples in the country, the wedding of SitaRam would be conducted with much pomp and geity. And Badhrachalam temple (built by famous saint Bhakta Ramdas) at a place where Sri Rama and Sita Mata stayed during their vanavasam, the celebrations will touch sky.

After edurkolu ritual that took place at Badhrachalam temple yesterday, SitaRama kalyanam is being conducted. Since the time of last Qutub Shahi, Abul Hasan Tana Shah (the seventh and last emperor of Bahamani dynasty who jailed Ramadasu for constructing a temple at Badhrachalam and later released him after dreaming Lord Sri Rama), silk clothes have been presented to the deity at Badhrachalam by the ruling authority of Andhra Pradesh/Hyderabad/Badhrachalam.

This year, chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has already left for Badhrachalam to submit silk clothes and thalambralu to SitaRamulu on behalf of the government. Kiran Kumar is going to submit the holy clothes at 11.30 am. In fact, several other VIPs have already reached Badhrachalam to witness SitaRama kalyanam.

Offers To God Diamond Studded Crown

Offers to God

A diamond studded crown worth 1 crore 80 lakhs of Rupees was presented to Tirupati Balaji by a Chennai devotee, as per the announcement made by Tirumal Tirupati Devastanams management.

It has been a tradition to donate some thing of the earnings in the name of God which is inculcated by our ancestors describing it as a Dharma Karya, a devotional deed. As the temples were treated as the safest of places and a proper use of the money is expected from the accumulation of the wealth of a temple, it was prescribed and has been followed from ages to offer some thing to God.

Whatever is offered to God is nothing, in spite of its exchange value, as God is considered as the real owner of everything in the creation. That is why an offer is made only in the name of God but not to God. This statement makes one not to become proud of his rich offering if made any. It is made customary to offer voluntarily to contribute for the poor and unfortunate who are not lucky enough to have a means to earn.

Some times an incident makes our mind search for similar incidents and the search result may makes us feel not very happy. Presenting a diamond studded crown to Lord Venkateswara of Tirupati by Gali Janardan Reddy comes up on the top of the search as it followed by the CBI raids, arrests and disclosure of many a financial crimes committed by him. As it is an automatic process of the mind it cannot be helped but an offering is a good act in the interest of the society as a whole.

IPL 6 Peoples Expectations

IPL 6 people's expectations

IPL 5 has been a blunder of sorts with the several controversies that had besieged the reputation of the game. What was intended to be quick entertainment for the audience and a test of stress for the players turned into a muck of politics, corruption, match-fixing, scandals at the after-parties and innumerable other things.

There are few ways the season 6 of the IPL can regain the popularity and the viewership of the first few installments of the game. After a small survey of people they have expressed that the IPL 6 could do away with a few things to be as attractive as the earlier iterations and we have made a small list of it.

1.   Aloofness from politics: Sport is sport and politics are nowhere concerned with these games. IPL is better off without politics. Let the sport be a sport and not a money minting machine.

2.    Controversies with after-parties: After the games, there are several after parties that would relax the players but there have been several scandals involved in these after-parties recently. Several players have been named to be involved in unacceptable behavior at these parties tainting the sportsmanship of the games. We don't want to hear about drug abuse, chronic alcoholism, or some similar illicit activity; just fun.

3.    Cheerleaders: We appreciate that India want's to Indianize the appearance and make it less provocative but the concept is not Indian in the first place. Either let it be western or IPL 6 can do better off without the Indian garment donning version of the mini-dances. Not only does it hurt the sentiments of the classical dancers but it also enervates the concept.

4.    Strategic breaks: Really? Are the teams so unprepared for the variable outcomes of the game? No, this is nothing but an abhorrent way of minting money for the IPL when it can telecast more and more advertisements. One break is more than sufficient and adding another one will only hamper the pace and the entertainment in the game.

5.    Match-fixing: Highly unacceptable. If you are charging the audience for tickets, premium for the special boxes, provide unadulterated games without trying to influence the games for money.

6.    Tough matches: matches that are nerve wracking until the very last ball are what we want to see and not those matches where a team can score well beyond 200 while the other is dismissed for a score shy of 150.
