100 Days of Samaikyandhra Movement in Seemandhra

100 Days of Samaikyandhra Movement in Seemandhra

100 Days of Samaikyandhra Movement in Seemandhra

Seemandhra people have been protesting for 100 days against the Center's decision on July 30, to bifurcate the State. In the above photo Samaikyandhra activists sat in the formation of 100 at the Clock Tower Center in Anantapur to mark the 100th day of the agitation.

The Congress Working Committee has taken a decision to bifurcate the State of Andhra Pradesh which is the first linguistic State to form in the country.  Now the same Federal Government that unified the regions in which the people talk the same language in 1956 is now stepping forward to disintegrate it.  After the decisionof the CWC the matter has gone to the Cabinet which formed a GoM to make observations about the situation in the State regarding the bifurcation.

The congress Government has been adamantly sticking to its decision in spite of the prolonged protests in Seemandhra for Samaikyandhra.  APNGOs initiated the stir among the employees which was supported by all Seemandhra employees and RTC employees that caused a deadlock and brought the State functioning to stand still in the Seemandhra region.  Even the cyclone and floods and plight of the employees without salaries for over 2 months and business circles with revenue did not weaken the movement.

Usually a movement is backed up by a political party but the Samaikyandhra movement came from the people of the region from all the sections.  Not only the activists are not backed up by the politicians but the activists made it difficult to the politicians.  The political leaders stayed back at Hyderabad or at Delhi but did not go back to their constituencies without a firm promise to give but the matter is in the hands of the Congress party high command and it is not clear to any leadr in the party.  Activists attacked residences of the political leaders.

Another notable point is the Chief Minister’s stand.  Kiran Kumar Reddy has been fighting against bifurcation right from the moment CWC took the decision.  For the first time in the history of Congress party a Chief Minister of the party wrote a letter to the President and the Prime Minister opposing the decision of the Government.  He has been called today to brief him and make him ready for the undisputed passing of the bifurcation note in the Assembly.

The opposition parties in the State are also against the bifurcation and against the unilateral decision taken by the Government.  But still the Congress Government at the Center wants to go ahead sticking to its decision in spite of the blame from all other parties that all it is to gain power in the State which slipping out of hand.  But the political scene is not indicating favorable conditions to the Congress party in the State.  Seemandhra is ruled out but even Telangana region is doubtful as the expected merger of TRS with Congress party is not assured in the wake of TRS getting politically strengthened after the decision on the formation of Telangana state is announced.

The very congress party leaders are hoping that at least the high command must be clear about the steps it is taking.

In the wake of the agitation in Seemandhra the congress party though not showing outwardly is going ahead stepping cautiously. An all party meet is called and opinions were solicited from all parties and associations.  Based on the opinions gathered the Home Ministry has made its note in a book form consisting of 400 pages to present to the GoM.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Gets Bail

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Gets Bail

Jagan gets bail

YS Jaganmohan Reddy, President of YSR Congress Party got conditional bail today.

Jagan who was arrested on 27th May 2012 by CBI had been spending in jail since that day.  He applied for bail a number of times.  His pleas previously were rejected by the Supreme Court Also.  His bail has been strongly objected by CBI in all those instances.

Even this time too CBI pleaded against giving bail to CBI.  But as the investigations are concluded by CBI as it was declared by the investigating agency, the argument that Jagan may influence the witnesses or may change records did not hold good.

However the CBI special court put conditions for his bail.
  1. Jagan should not leave Hyderabad.
  2. He should not try to influence anyone who ever is connected with the case for which he was arrested.
  3. A security of Rs.2.00 lakhs each should be given with personal sureties by two persons.
The Court also said that the CBI may approach the court to cancel his bail in case the bail conditions are breached.
The followers of Jagan expressed their happiness over the news by distributing sweets and firing crackers.   The slogans of “Jai Jagananna” rented the air.

Bandh Call By OU Students JAC To Match APNGOs Public Meet

Bandh Call By OU Students JAC To Match APNGOs Public Meet
Bandh Call by OU Students JAC To Match APNGOs Public Meet
Osmania University Students gave a bandh call on 7th in the districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Warangal to match the day of first ever public meeting held by Samaikyandhra supporters at Hyderabad.

As the permission is given to APNGOs Association by the police for conducting a public meeting at LB Stadium Hyderabad on 7th, unrest has started in Telangana NGOs, Telangana political JAC and Students JAC.  It is aggravated by the denial of permission for their rallies in Hyderabad.   The strategy is very clear.  They want to obstruct the participants in the meeting as they will have to pass those districts to reach Hyderabad.  They are going to block the main roads on that day to make it difficult to Seemandhra employees to reach Hyderabad.

Although the police gave permission to APNGOs to hold the meeting in LB Stadium, the Students JAC of Osmania University made a resolution to foil it to see that it will not materialize at any cost.

The AP NGO's are gearing up for an eventful meeting on 7th September at LB Stadium, Hyderabad. Calling all Samaikhyandhra supporters to the venue, they have released a powerful video that includes Pawan Kalyan's scene as a blood boiling 'pilupu' to join their cause.

Using Pawan's voice and magnetism to the maximum, the video is energetically calling all supporters to be a part of the United Andhra initiative. The dialogues were part of Pawan's recent film Cameraman Ganaga tho Rambabu. Not a very subtle gesture we say!

AP NGOs Association has received the all clear from the police to conduct the meeting, albeit with certain restrictions. Only the AP NGOs will attend the meeting from 2pm to 5pm, where the attendees are not allowed to shout slogans. Employees with identity cards will only be granted entry. The employees are informed not to carry any objectionable material on them such as match boxes and bags.

You can open tiffin centre in Telangana, KCR tells CM

You can open tiffin centre in Telangana, KCR tells CM

Responding to Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's statements earlier, TRS president KCR has lashed out with statistics. He spoke to the media and elaborated that Telangana region has its own power supply and that Andhra and Telangana will return each others favors over time.

Throwing virtual daggers at the CM, KCR alleged that Kiran Kumar Reddy's statements are lies and untruths. He pointed out that both Guntur and Telangana have high courts, constructed in 1964 and 1919 respectively.

Hyderabad has only 15,000 advocates, he noted, as he prepares himself to challenge the CM in a debate.

He said that Telangana people have accepted Hyderabad as common capital for 10 years based on humanitarian grounds. 'Andhra people can carry on their work here until a new capital is established. I never said those who are born and brought up here are not Telanganites. The CM can also run a tiffin center here if he wants,' KCR shot out.

The leader continued that Kiran Kumar Reddy did not speak in a fashion befitting a chief minister. He went on to elaborate that farmers in Telangana have nothing fear as they have sources of electricity and that the CM is misleading them.

KCR further clarified that he never asked Andhra government employees to leave the new state. He said that he would like to speak all of this with the CM in person.

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Raos 90th Birthday

NTR's 90th Birthday

NTR's 90th Birthday

NT Rama Rao who in fact does not need an introduction is only remembered here on the occasion of his birthday today.
He made so deep an impression on the Telugu people living in the State and also elsewhere on the globe that it is hard to forget him for a long time to come.  He achieved with flying colors on two different fields- movies and politics.

He was a matinee idol in Telugu Cinema.  He enacted mythological roles and gave an impression that they must have looked exactly like him.  His famous roles were of Sri Ram and Sri Krishna.  He equally did justice to the anti roles of Ravana and Duryodhana.  His tone, timing, dialogue delivery, facial expressions and graceful movements made him a hero of all times.  He acted in fantacy, social and historical movies also with same ease.  His first movie was “Mana Desam” in 1949 and last was “Srinadha Kavi Sarvabhouma” in 1993.

NT Rama Rao entered politics in 1982 with a bang. He founded Telugu Desam Party which broke all time record of regional party earning thumping majority in a short time of its inception.  He ruled the State of Andhra Pradesh as its Chief Minister for three terms in total during the period from 1983 to 1995.   NTR also worked at the Center and was instrumental in forming a National Front with the non supporting parties to Congress.

He focused on the basic needs of the common man when he was ruling the State.  He introduced Rs.2/- per kg rice in those times.  Mid day meal is another popular Govt. Scheme he introduced.  He was for the women’s right to fight for the equal rights of women in the law of inheritance.   He brought prohibition of selling and stocking of alcohol in the State.  He introduced many reforms in different fields.  He introduced EAMCET.  He allowed private transporters to compete with APSRTC.  He initiated Telugu Ganga Project.  He boldly removed village Patwari and Patel system (Karanam and munsab).
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao who was born in Nimmakuru, a small village in of Gudivada Taluka that falls in Krishna District, on 28th May 1923 achieved top position in both the fields he opted for- Cinema and Politics.  In the both the fields he earned a clean image- no gossips in Cinema and no corruption in politics.

In spite of the changing time and technological development, NTR’s old films are still loved by many.  In spite of so much of the changes in the political scenario, still NTR’s way of coming to power, his ruling that saw many reforms and especially his endeavor to uphold Telugu pride will be remembered for a very long time to come.
